What You Should Do Prior To Your Appointment

• Remove any valuables from your attic –if your roof decking needs replacement, you’ll need to protect these items from damage
• Keep your driveway clear – if you can’t fit your vehicles in your garage (or if you don’t have a garage), you may need to park them in the road until the project is complete
• Secure or remove photographs and shelving – since hammering is involved, you’ll need to make sure these items are held in place well
• Clear your exterior property – be sure to move any patio or pool furniture out of harm’s way, as well as potted plants, garden equipment, and anything else that can get in the way or be damaged
• Check electrical availability –make sure that electrical outlets are functioning properly, and extension cords can be used if needed
• Notify us of attic wiring and/or piping – if any wires or pipes are within two inches of the roof decking, please tell us about them
What You Should Do During Your Appointment
• Have your chosen shingles (if you decide to go with shingles) delivered and compare the type and color to what’s in your contract (notify us immediately of any issues)
• Notify your mortgage lender – this will help to speed up both the inspection and payment processes
• Be prepared for noise – if you aren’t crazy about the idea of constant hammering and the like, you may want to make plans away from home during the project
Keep children & pets safe – the work area can be hazardous, so be sure to keep both away from it and out of danger
